AASTMT Delegation Visits Dar es Salaam Port and Bandari College to Strengthen Maritime Cooperation
A delegation from the **Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Egypt**, led by its President **Prof. Ismail Abdelghafal Ismail**, visited the **Dar es Salaam Port** and **Bandari College Dar es Salaam (BCD)** as part of its official visit to Tanzania following an invitation from the **Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA)**.
The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and explore areas of mutual interest in maritime education, professional development, research, and capacity building within the port and transport sectors.
Bandari College Concludes Supervisory Management Skills Training for Tanzania East Africa Gateway Terminal Employees
On **19th March 2025**, **Bandari College Dar es Salaam (BCD)** successfully concluded a three-week **Supervisory Management Skills Training Programme** for employees of **Tanzania East Africa Gateway Terminal (TEAGT)**.
The training programme was designed to enhance participants’ supervisory and leadership capabilities by equipping them with essential skills required for effective workplace management, improved decision-making, and increased operational efficiency. The course focused on strengthening participants’ ability to manage teams effectively, communicate professionally, resolve workplace challenges, and create a productive working environment.
Bandari College Enhances Research Capacity Through Academic Writing Training for Instructors
On **22nd April 2025**, **Bandari College Dar es Salaam (BCD)** conducted a specialized training programme on **research writing skills** for its instructors as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen academic capacity and promote a strong research culture within the institution.
The training was designed to enhance instructors’ knowledge and understanding of effective research writing methodologies, enabling them to develop high-quality research outputs focusing on critical areas within the **transport, maritime, and port sectors**. The programme aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills to conduct, document, and publish impactful research that addresses emerging challenges and contributes to sector development.
Bandari College Strengthens International Collaboration with APEC Antwerp Port Training Centre to Enhance Capacity Building
The **Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA)**, through **Bandari College Dar es Salaam (BCD)**, continues to strengthen strategic partnerships with international institutions as part of its commitment to enhancing the capacity of its workforce and ensuring the delivery of world-class port services in accordance with international standards.
As part of this strategic initiative, Bandari College Dar es Salaam hosted a delegation from the **APEC Training Centre**, an institution affiliated with the **Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Belgium**, and supported through cooperation frameworks involving the **European Union (EU)**. The visit focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration in capacity building, professional development, research, and knowledge exchange for port and maritime sector professionals.
EACOP Conducts Overhead Crane Training for Bandari College Instructors
The **East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Company** conducted a two-day specialized training programme for instructors of **Bandari College Dar es Salaam** from **8th to 9th May 2025**. The training was aimed at enhancing the knowledge and technical capacity of College instructors in the operation and management of heavy lifting equipment.

The programme focused on improving participants' understanding and practical skills in the safe operation of **overhead crane systems**, which are widely used in industrial, construction, logistics, and transportation environments. Through this training, Bandari College instructors gained essential competencies related to crane operations, workplace safety procedures, equipment handling techniques, and best practices for lifting operations.
